=====================================================================
🎄 Ten wooden Christmas ornaments, each one a little storybook scene you can look into: Santa's Visit, The Carol Singer, Holy Night, The Angel's Lantern, The Snowman's Garden, The Nutcracker's Watch, The Forest Stag, Winter Birds, The Gnome's Way Home and Gingerbread Lane. ✨
🪵 Real depth, not a flat ornament: every ornament has three layers with air between them. The character stands in front and steps out of the ring, a near scene sits in the middle, a far scene stands under an open sky at the back. One wooden strip with bending cuts runs round the rim and closes with a hook lock at the bottom.
🖌️ Engraved in two tones: the lines are dark, coats, hats and fur get a lighter flat tone, and every face has eyes you can see. The tone is its own colour in the file, so you can set its power or leave it out for a clean line drawing.
📐 Size of the finished ornaments in 3 mm material: 90 to 99 mm wide, 111 to 116 mm tall, 19 mm deep (3.5 to 3.9 in wide, 4.4 to 4.6 in tall, 0.75 in deep), the height measured with the crown. In 4 mm material: 92 to 100 mm wide, 113 to 117 mm tall, 20 mm deep (3.6 to 3.9 in wide, 4.4 to 4.6 in tall, 0.79 in deep). The round frame is 90 mm (3.5 in) across on all ten in 3 mm and 92 mm in 4 mm; width and height change a little with the character and the crown. The hanging hole is 5.2 mm wide and takes ribbon or cord up to 4 mm.
📁 Two complete file sets are included: one for 3 mm (1/8 in) and one for 4 mm (5/32 in) plywood. Each ornament has its own sheet of 300 x 200 mm (11.8 x 7.9 in). Your laser needs a working area at least that big: the rim strip is one piece, about 269 mm (10.6 in) long. Red lines cut, black shapes engrave the lines, magenta shapes engrave the tone, blue numbers mark the parts.
🧩 Four parts per ornament: front ring with the character, middle ring with the hanging crown, back ring and the rim strip. The middle ring locks into the strip with small lugs; the back ring and the front ring are pressed on and held with a few drops of wood glue. Every part has a number (1F, 1M, 1B, 1S …) that matches the guide.
📄 A step-by-step picture guide with 11 pages is included, one for each thickness: the parts of one ornament, 7 build steps with the new part shown in orange, a page about the two engraving tones and a page with all ten.
🌳 PLEASE READ, ABOUT BENDING: the rim strip has to be bent into a ring. How well a strip bends depends on your plywood: its wood, its glue and its grain. Good birch or poplar plywood is the best choice, but some sheets crack, and we cannot promise that every plywood bends. That is why the download has a short test strip to try first, and plain spacer rings: with them every ornament can also be glued as a flat stack without the bent strip. From the front it looks almost the same.
💾 You get: SVG, DXF, PDF, EPS and AI files for both thicknesses, in two ZIP files. These open in LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, Glowforge, Illustrator and Inkscape.
⚙️ Cut at 100% size, do not resize. Measure your wood before you cut. Laser settings are not included, they depend on your machine and your wood. Not suitable for Cricut or other blade cutters.
🔥 Safety: this is made of wood. A decoration, not a toy. Keep it away from small children, candles and open flame.
